Decoding Gods name or rather what is His name?

I have searched and asked to my wits end if anyone knows Gods name starting with Y. The letters used to write Gods name in Hebrew somehow lack the meaning or mean something else in the Bantu languages. It seems the meaning has been distorted and if you really want his name you would have to dig up old stones with his name inscription. Who knows where to dig? Right now I am following what Joel 2 :28 where it says your sons and daughters will prophesy. 

I am not prophesying Gods name though, but just trying to find the right words that were used in the olden days. The names of God  we use today seem to not fit the name he told Moses in the burning bush. see Exodus 3

The first assumption I made is Moses was Sotho. I will explain his name in another post. I just want to focus on Gods name in this post. So if Moses is Sotho, then God speaking in the burning bush spoke Sotho.

I am not Sotho and I do not claim to understand it 100% but I can hear and understand most of what is being said. It is unfortunate that I did not learn Sotho at school😞. But I love my Sotho brothers and sisters.

Now back to the name of God. What did God say to Moses. The bible says he said 'I am that I am' . For whatever reason the translators went with Yaleng-teng in the 1909/1961 version. The 1989 version says 14 Modimo a re ho Moshe: "Ke nna YENA eo e entseng e le YENA" 

Have you seen these letters before YHVH (Hebrew) -  see how YENA has four letters also?

So His name is YENA.

In the stones it is said it was written like this

Reading from right to left it is YEVE - that would not have a meaning of I am, but Yena has that meaning. Did someone change N and just add a stroke to make V? I don't know. What I know is that Gods name communicated to Moses is in Sotho and it was YENA. Well, the word YENA means Him in all southern bantu languages, It simply means he said to Moses I am Him(note yena has no gender). Clearly, it must have been easier back then to just say it is HIM who spoke. Once you say HIM everyone knew you referred to God.

However, today that name is not common and I am still to hear anyone who refers to God as YENA in Bantu.

What about the other names circulating today? 

I see YAHAWA - well in Sotho that would be - YOURS. Just change the last a to u. Well Yours is not written like that today but if it was using w in the past like this YHW the word would have meant yours 

YAHAYA - would mean his/hers. God may have used that to show He is Abrahams God. 

I know modern Sotho skips some consonants today, I don't know why they write like that but since I know how these are pronounced I can easily see the connection with these names people use on the net. 

Yours is written like this today

Pronounced as - Eya hawu.  In hebrew it would have been written as YHW because vowels were limited

His is written like this

Pronounced as Haye - See also HY.  Since Hebrew wrote only consonants so Haye would have been HY. 

I suppose seeing YHW, YHY, YENA would have been confusing to someone who does not know the language, however, all these are not the same have possession form Y written as YA. 

However, Gods name has no possession in it, it is just YENA meaning HIM

I have to say, i dont know this name and I have never heard anyone use it. Today God is simply Modimo, Thixo, Mdali, etc but not YENA. 

And because noone uses this name, I guess that is why we never saw that YEVE (misspelt) to be the name of our God.
